Skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities face a whole new set of immense challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic. As a top-rated nursing home from U.S. News and World Report, safety is our top priority and our Coronavirus Task Force has ensured that our facility is as safe as possible.
Our Nurses Make the Difference
One asset that Sapphire Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing of Central Queens has is our nursing staff. Due to their advanced skill level, residents are able to be treated and undergo several diagnostic procedures without having to leave the facility. Having residents remain in their home and not be exposed to other doctor’s offices and hospitals in the community is an excellent preventative measure as we try to limit our potential exposure to the virus.
Our nursing staff can perform procedures like X-rays, ultrasounds, EKGs, bladder scans, and more, so you are able to rest easy knowing your loved one has immediate access to these services without the inconvenience — and potential dangers — of having to travel to another facility.
Wound Care Specialists
In addition to outstanding care on a daily basis, we have RNs who are certified in internal wound care, meaning that any issue that requires skin, wound, or ostomy care can be addressed on-site, regardless of the day or time.
Our Staff Has it all Covered
Sapphire Center’s rehab, social work, and dietary teams contain workers at the top of their respective fields, and we also have compassionate, skilled staff members who excel in dementia/Alzheimer’s care, along with palliative, hospice, and comfort care.
Choosing a skilled nursing facility to care for your loved one is a difficult decision, especially now. Let the dedicated staff at Sapphire Center guide you every step of the way and provide you with one of the most important qualities in these uneasy times — peace of mind.
